SL Second Life Help
* Second Life heavily relies on a volunteer-based help system to educate newcomers into the world. Long-standing members can apply to be volunteers and assist beginners based on a specific role assigned to them.
There are 3 types of volunteers in Second Life:
* Instructors – These are people who are approved and paid by Linden Labs to instruct other users in a variety of Second Life topics. They hold regular classes and are paid L$500 per approved class. Class topics range from Building, Scripting, Texturing, Managing Businesses and extend to almost any topic imaginable under the Second Life world.
* Greeters – Greeters orient the newcomers and introduce them to the Second Life mainland. They ensure that newcomers don’t be shocked and confused by the sheer complexity and open-endedness of Second Life. They are responsible for introducing people to the Second Life culture.
* Mentors – Mentors basically act as the arm of Second Life live help service. Mentors primarily answer questions, give advice, assistance and guidance. They also assist the growth and formation of communities. When a greeter is not available to answer your question, You usually turn to the nearest mentor for advice and help.
